DCBIA Community Improvement Day 2013
The District of Columbia Building Industry Association organizes an annual Community Improvement Day that works to improve parks and other public spaces in the Washington, DC area. The 21st annual event took place at the Robert F. Lederer Gardens with over 800 volunteers from more than 100 different organizations. We were tasked to paint a building and transform it into the primary identity feature on the site.
This year, our design was inspired by LEGO blocks that correlated to the established brand colors of the site. Since all of our helpers were usually kids from the local community, we wanted the design to be fun and exciting. The 4 pillars of the Lederer Gardens are Eat, Grow, Play, and Learn, so we created icons to represent each one of them.
