DCBIA Community Improvement Day 2012
The District of Columbia Building Industry Association organizes an annual Community Improvement Day that works to improve parks and other public spaces in the Washington, DC area. The 20th annual event took place at the Congress Heights Recreation Center with over 800 volunteers from more than 100 different organizations. We were tasked to paint a building and transform it into the primary identity feature on the site.
This year, our design was based off of the urban landscaping on the site. The architecture used a lot of triangles in its design so we wanted to reflect that through our building’s graphics with a little more flair. In addition, we wanted the design to be fun and exciting since most of our help during the event would come from the children of the local community.
